How a fake travels

😱
A big feeling hits
Fury, fear or wow. The post is engineered to cause it.

👆
The instant share
Feelings share fast and check slowly. That is the whole trick.

📈
The feed boosts it
Every reaction tells the feed to show it to more people.

🌍
Millions see it
Most of them will never check. You are no longer most people.
The checks break this loop at step one. A fake travels further than its correction, so the decision that matters is made before you share.
